SE BUSCA: Social Media Charlatan for Freelance Gig

A friend is looking for a passionate and aggressive Social Media Coordinator.

Just writing that gave me a chuckle. For years I have called them “social media charlatans,” but times change and it’s a bona fide task that takes time. And this friend of mine has money to pay for social media management. Given all the freelancers down there in Latin America, I’m sharing the opportunity in case you or someone you know needs some extra pocket money for location-independent work.

I’d like to say this person is a highly motivated, creative individual with experience and a passion for social media. But that makes me laugh too. It’s more likely that this person is highly motivated and creative at not having a “real job,” and probably doing the “solopreneur” thing in Latin America or wherever.

To be clear, this is not a full-time job. It’s beer money. The offer is $100 per month to share daily posts across FB, Twitter and LinkedIn. Occasionally my friend will send you the article to share. Otherwise you’ll have a set of keywords to add to your Google Alerts or whatever you use to find content.

No PPC. Just find the content and share it. I recommend you batch the sourcing of content and share via a scheduler, adding articles the boss passes your way as needed. Now I’ve even told you how to do the job. Nothing left but to ask me for it.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop / find relevant content to reach product’s audience.
  • Create daily posts.
  • Interact with and respond to users.
  • Periodically (quarterly?) provide recommendations based on engagement data.

Note: Initial assignment will not include promotions or review / reputation campaigns. Just sharing content, easy peasy.

  • Social media profiles on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.
  • Online persona (at least enough so an employer can get an idea what you’re about).
  • Native English.

$100 per month for 2.5 hours per week (30 minutes per day … maybe less?).

How to Apply

Email colin at expat-chronicles dot com with at least your social media profiles and a pitch why you’d be good at this. Send your resume if you have one or whatever else you think I need to see. More info on my friend’s company / product once that conversation has started. It’s not dodgy, just private for now.
